It can be activated using the boot option 'insert usbub'. - INSERT now speaks Reiser4! - ...and HFS and HFS+ - FUSE and the latest(!) ntfsprogs package were added. This means INSERT can mount NTFS-volumes read/write with the kernel NTFS driver from the linux-ntfs-project! (see ntfsmount/fusermount), but not all features are supported. This has to be considered highly experimental. Use at you rown risk! - Captive is updated to the current version 1.1.7 (it's been very long since there have been changes in the Captive CVS). Captive now can use the SP2 files (ntfs.sys and ntoskrnl.exe)! Captive now uses fuse. That means unmounting is achieved using fusermount. This simplifies the boot process and makes the whole filesystem writable (modifications go to /ramdisk). - INSERT now uses the KDrive X-servers. These are very small albeit fully featured (for our purpose at least). It boots into 1024x768 with 16 bit color depth and PS/2 mouse per default. It hopefully will boot on most USB-boot-capable systems since it uses grub as the boot loader (very flexible). Please give feedback on this new feature! - INSERT should now be usable by blind people. Given the boot Option 'blind' and 'brltty=type, port, table' the control program for braille terminals is started instead of X. Please also give feedback on this one. - Among the updated packages are: avscan, bash_completion, bashburn, cdrecord, clamav, curl, dd_rescue, fakeroot, file, jfsutils, hdparm, mdadm, mkisofs, mtr-tiny, netpipe-tcp, ntfsprogs, rkhunter, strace, testdisk, udpcast, wget, wireless-tools - Some tools were added: calcoo (desktop calculator), fsck.reiserfs and debugreiserfs (from the reiserfsprogs package), lftp (sophisticated command line FTP client), ddrescue (supposed to be better than dd_rescue), pv (speed measuring pipe), rdesktop (connect to MS terminal services) - ftp was replaced with lukemftp - memtest was replaced with memtest86+ - the 'quiet' boot option was removed, making kernel boot messages visible, 'noapic' was added to make booting more robust.
